stompin’ grounds
Sorry I’ve been really busy lately adjusting to the real world. I’m hoping to go out and take some photos soon. Too many ideas piling up not to. This first one isn’t anything special. It’s the stoop we used to hang out on in grade school. It’s behind this little store in glendale. We would walk there from school and hang out.
These last two are from my house.
water tank
This photo itself isn’t very good. The problem is you can hardly see anything. A horse fell into the water tank at the rodeo. I watched the horse fall in and then all hell broke loose. The other horses in the pen started freaking out and stirred up the dust. Someone jumped in the pen threw a lasso around the horses neck while another man on horseback grabbed the other end and started pulling. About 20 other men down in the chutes started pushing the horse out.
4th of July parade
So I took photos at the Cimarron parade. I’ll be posting some rodeo photos once I pick a few I like.
summer update
So I work at Philmont Scout Ranch. It’s a high adventure base run by the Boy Scouts. To give you an idea of how big of an operation it is here are some quick facts. 350 campers arrive everyday with 350 coming off the trail everyday. Philmont has a budget of $20 million, employs about 1,000 people, over about 214 square miles Philmont owns. I work for News and Photo Service. The first photo is a typical sunset view from my tent. The next is burros at Harlan. Then a couple shots from Rayado. The man in the hat is John Carson, Kit Carson’s great-great-nephew. I haven’t been taking very many photos yet on my own time while I battling a cold but I plan to.
To whom it may concern
I’m leaving for New Mexico this thursday (May 27th) and returning August 19 or 20th. My posts may become very spaced out or non existent. Then again nothing may change. Have a good summer.
